Throughout the years we’ve seen a variety of takes on accent walls. While the reclaimed wood wall rang strong for several years, we are now seeing a new wood accent wall emerge - White Oak!

It’s not such a surprise since White Oak has been a cornerstone of the flooring industry for years. It’s famous for its strength, beauty and flexibility to blend into any style and space.

Today, we want to discuss the different ways your can achieve a White Oak wall as well as share all the inspiration we can!

First, let’s start with our always popular profile - (NOT) Shiplap in White Oak. We had a client who started the 1x8 Rustic White Oak in their staircase next to the laundry room then carried the look up to the Man Attic.

Another great reason to love White Oak is the ease it has with taking stain. Character Built Construction designed and built out the space at the Bottleworks in Athens, GA and created a sleek modern entrance with Ebonized Oak in a Square Edge profile.

Here is another take on how Oak holds stain using a White Rubio Monocoat in the (NOT) Shiplap profile at The Falls Restaurant in Athens, GA.

Are you wanting a grand library or sitting room with White Oak paneling throughout? Then we recommend using our White Oak flooring profile. This beats any plywood look alike because each piece is authentic and not like the other. Whereas plywood will have one pattern that continues to repeat itself which will look fake. (You will also want to have an excellent trim carpenter on hand to help execute.)

White Oak is also a great option if you are wanting to accomplish the Old World Charm/French Country look in your space. We love how the homeowner added visual interest with a breakup in direction up the wall.
